Baptismal Banner
We mentioned in our post on celebrating baptismal birthdays that it can be nice to display baptismal-themed items by your home altar on the commemoration date. All of this is meant to be a way of decorating your space with thought and intention, similar to how you might do for a birthday or name day party!
Baptism certificates, banners, and items like candles and/or shells are great things to use for this purpose; however, we wanted to provide another resource that could be easily made at home and stored for use at multiple baptismal birthday celebrations throughout the year. This baptism-themed garland would be a great craft to do with children in preparation for their own (or someone else’s) day. It could even be part of a baptism gift that you give your godchild or a hostess gift that you could bring with you when you are attending a baptism party of a loved one. When not in use, put it in your home altar or display it alongside your other items.
To assemble, print and cut out the template below and then use a pretty piece of string or ribbon to put it all together! The nice thing here is that we promise that this custom comes together easily and without much forethought.
